(Savannah, GA) - Champions Tour Rookie Mark O'Meara will make his first appearance at the Liberty Mutual Legends of Golf, Executive Director Tim Iley announced today.  O'Meara will compete in the individual Legends Division for $2.5 million in official money.  The Liberty Mutual Legends of Golf celebrates its 30th anniversary April 16-22 at the Westin Savannah Harbor Golf Resort & Spa.

During a PGA TOUR career that spanned 25 years, O'Meara collected 16 PGA TOUR titles including the 1998 Masters and British Open.  The Windermere, FL resident was also a member of five United States Ryder Cup teams (1985, '89, '91, '97, 99) and two United States Presidents Cup teams (1996, '98), compiling a combined record of 11-11-1.  The Long Beach State University product enjoyed his best year as a professional in 1998 when at 41 years of age he became the oldest player to capture two major championships in the same year.  On the strength of his Masters and British Open victories, O'Meara was voted PGA TOUR Player of the Year by his peers.  He also earned Player of the Year honors from the PGA of America and the Golf Writers Association of America.

O'Meara turned 50 in January of this year and made his Champions Tour debut at the Outback Steakhouse Pro-Am in February.  After opening his Champions Tour career with a T38 in Tampa, the Goldsboro, NC native has reeled off four consecutive top-10 finishes, including a T2 at the Ginn Championship at Hammock Beach.
