| Former Masters Champions Raymond Floyd, Fuzzy Zoeller and Craig Stadler Commit To Liberty Mutual Legends of Golf |

(Savannah, GA) - On the eve of the 2007 Masters just up the road in Augusta, the Liberty Mutual Legends of Golf gained commitments from former Masters Champions Raymond Floyd, Fuzzy Zoeller and Craig Stadler, Executive Director Tim Iley announced today. The 30th Liberty Mutual Legends of Golf returns to the Westin Savannah Harbor Golf Resort & Spa, April 16-22. Floyd, a 14-time winner on the Champions Tour, will make only his fourth appearance in the Liberty Mutual Legends of Golf and his first in Savannah since 2003. The Fort Bragg, NC native captured 22 PGA TOUR titles, including the 1976 Masters, one of three major championships highlighting his resume. A member of eight United States Ryder Cup teams, including the victorious 1991 squad at Kiawah Island, Floyd also captained the team in 1989. After competing in only nine events in 2006, the former North Carolina Tar Heel has already played five events in 2007 with his best finish a T8 last week at The Ginn Championship at Hammock Beach. One of the Champions Tour's most popular players since turning 50 in 2001, Zoeller will make his sixth consecutive appearance at the Liberty Mutual Legends of Golf. The 10-time PGA TOUR winner, including the 1979 Masters and 1984 U.S. Open, remains the last player to win The Masters in his first appearance. The Floyds Knob, IN native has two Champions Tour titles to his credit, including a major, the 2002 Senior PGA Championship. Zoeller has competed in all eight Champions Tour events to start the 2007 season with his best finish a T9 at the ACE Group Classic. Joining Floyd and Zoeller in the Legends Division individual competition is 1982 Masters Champion Craig Stadler. The 13-time PGA TOUR winner stormed onto the Champions Tour in 2003, winning three tournaments after turning 50 in June and garnering Rookie of the Year honors. Stadler followed up his strong 2003 season with a five-win campaign in 2004, earning the Arnold Palmer award as leading money winner and Champions Tour Player of the Year honors. In three previous starts at the Westin Savannah Harbor Golf Resort & Spa, the San Diego, CA native has never finished outside of the top 10, including a T2 last year. In all, 10 former Masters Champions who are playing this week have committed to play the 30th Liberty Mutual Legends of Golf. They are: Tommy Aaron (Demaret), Gay Brewer (Demaret), Billy Casper (Demaret), Raymond Floyd (Legends), Doug Ford (Demaret), Bob Goalby (Demaret), Craig Stadler (Legends), Tom Watson (Raphael) and Fuzzy Zoeller (Legends). |
