Wendy's Old Fashioned Hamburgers will be holding
its 5th Annual Wendy's Walk for Kids to benefit
The Dave Thomas Foundation for Adoption, The Handicapped
Children's Association, Broome County Urban League
and Mom's House at the upcoming Dick's Sporting Goods Open
on Sunday, August 18th.
All are welcome to walk! We welcome adults, children,
co-workers, clubs, teams, organizations, schoolmates and friends to
join.
Admission to the Dick's Sporting Goods Open on Sunday is FREE
with your $10 pre-registration fee or $15 walk-up registration
fee. There will be family-friendly activities for the kids
such as face painting, games and balloon animals.
Registration forms are available at area Wendy's and online at
www.wendyswalkforkids.com. Registrations takes
place 9:00am-5:00pm on Saturday, August 17th at En-Joie Golf Coruse
and 9:00am-4:00pm on Sunday, August 18th. The first 1,000 to
register will receive a free Wendy's Walk for Kids Tee Shirt.
Walkers gather at 4:45 PM near the 1st and 10th tees for their
choice of a 1, 1.5 or 2 mile walk, which begins at 5:00pm.
The goal of the Wendy's Walk for Kids is to raise money for
programs whose purpose is to help children in our community realize
their full potential, regardless od their life experiences and
current circumstances. Last year, the Walk distributed over
$190,000, which was distributed equally to four wonderful charities
benefiting children
. All of these organizations are local and suppport
efforts to help children in the Greater Binghamton area. Our
fundraising goal for 2013 is $225,000! |
