Volunteer Committees

The Constellation SENIOR PLAYERS Championship offers many fun and exciting opportunities to become involved with the championship. Volunteers are a vital and important asset to the tournament and help ensure a smooth operation of the tournament. Their efforts in turn help the event generate charitable dollars for local nonprofits. 

Volunteer opportunities are available in the following committees:

Admissions/Will Call/Information - Sell tickets and exchange coupons at admission gate.  Assist with security check of credentials and personal items, and sell Official Championship Programs and Daily Pairings Guides at all entrance gates. Committee days: Tuesday - Sunday

Apparel - Inventory, maintain, and distribute volunteer uniforms and credentials. Also assist with apparel exchanges and sales of past apparel. Volunteers will need to be available prior to the tournament (various dates throughout June TBD) to assist with preparing and distributing volunteer packages during apparel distribution. Assist with fulfillment of volunteer orders and sales during tournament week. Minimal lifting is required.

Caddies - Register professional caddies. Distribute towels via a towel exchange program, issue caddie bibs, and oversee the caddie Hospitality tent. Committee days: Sunday - Sunday

Commissary - Distribute refreshments and snacks from designated commissary locations to all holes on the course, scoring tents, practice range, media center, volunteer village, and other designated areas on course. Must have the ability to lift up to 20 lbs. Committee days: Sunday - Sunday.

Course Prep - Rope and stake course and all ancillary areas as specified. Committee will install stakes & ropes before the tournament, maintain rope lines throughout tournament week, and remove stakes & ropes after the tournament. Must be willing to work outside and perform physical labor as this committee requires significant lifting. Much of committee's work is accomplished the week prior to the event: June 21st - 23rd.

Evacuation - Assist in facilitating and executing the evacuation plan for players in case of inclement weather. Must have valid driver's license and be comfortable driving a 12-passendger van. Must remain calm under pressure and in bad weather conditions. Committee is operational Monday - Sunday of tournament week.

Events - Assist in the implementation of specific events and activities during tournament week including: Women's Day, Youth Clinics and other parties. Committee is operational Tuesday - Sunday.

Golf Carts - Allocate golf carts to PGA TOUR Staff, Chairs, Coordinators and Operations. Maintains a sign in/sign out sheet and assign cart signage to individual carts. Ensure cart keys are returned; carts are charged and cleaned daily. Committee days: Sunday - Sunday

Golf Channel/Television Spotters - Assist the Golf Channel with tournament responsibilities including carrying microphones and equipment and relaying tournament information to the Golf Channel staff. This committee requires some golf knowledge, ability to walk the course/keep pace with their assigned group, in addition to minor lifting. Only one shift per day - must be able to work entire day (shifts are approx. 6 hours). Committee days: Wednesday - Sunday

Hospitality - Greet guests and check credentials at entrances to sponsored hospitality locations. Assist Marshals with noise control when players are approaching hospitality areas. This position may require standing for periods of time. Committee days: Thursday - Sunday

Long Drive - Long Drive Operators measure the location of a professional's ball on the fairway. Mandatory ShotLink training is required prior to tournament week. Standing may be required for long periods at a time. Committee days: Thursday - Sunday

Marshals - Provide gallery control, assist in player movement, help locate errant golf shots and provide spectators with general information as needed. Marshals will also assist with the movement of players on and off the course due to rain delays or whenever deemed necessary. This committee requires standing for extended periods of time in addition to walking to various positions around assigned hole. Committee days: Tuesday - Sunday

Office Support - Assist the Tournament Office Staff prior to and during the tournament with general administration of the office including answering phones, assisting with mail, making photocopies, etc. Committee days: Wednesday, June 19th through Sunday, June 30th.

On-Course Shuttles - Provide player transportation from the Clubhouse to the practice area and in certain situations transportation to the 10th tee from the Clubhouse. Committee is operational Monday - Sunday of tournament week.

Patriots Outpost - Responsible for checking credentials and the operations of a private hospitality venue for military personnel called the Patriots' Outpost. Committee days: Thursday through Sunday.

Practice Area/Special Area Marshals - Staffs and maintains the practice facility area for contestants. Stocks and distributes practice range balls, drinks, etc. Maintains crowds and help players move from the range and putting green to the tee easily. Committee days: Tuesday - Sunday

Pro-Am - Assist with overall execution of the event including but not limited to amateur player registration, gift pack inventory, distribution and assembly. Committee days: Monday - Wednesday

Shipping and Supply - Record shipments received and deliver to tournament grounds - distribute to appropriate areas. Responsible for distributing Programs and Pairing Sheets to committees and on course locations. Committee requires minor lifting. Committee days: Monday - Sunday

Special Needs Shuttle - Provide cart transportation and assistance for disabled spectators to and from pick up and drop off areas to reserved disabled seating areas on course. Committee days: Tuesday - Sunday

Standard Bearers - Accompany each group of professionals during play and display their scores in relation to par on a cumulative basis. Must be able to carry a standard sign (weighs approximately 5-7 pounds) and walk 18 holes without a break. All volunteers are required to work the Wednesday Pro-Am in addition to 2 other shifts. Committee days: Wednesday - Sunday

Transportation - Provide transportation for players, their families and VIP guests before, during and after the tournament, to and from hotels and airports. Must be over the age of 21, have a valid, unrestricted driver's license, and cell phone. Committee is operational Friday prior to the tournament through Monday following the tournament.

Volunteer Village - Manage tent where volunteers check in with their respective Committee Chairs as well as come for snacks & beverages in between their shifts. Maintain a clean and supportive meeting place for the volunteers. The committee is operational Monday - Sunday of tournament week.

Walking Scorers - Record the scores and statistics of play on handheld PDA devices during the Wednesday Pro-Am and all competitive rounds. Must be able to walk 18 holes without a break. Volunteers will receive training on how to use the PDA device. All volunteers are required to work the Wednesday Pro-Am in addition to 2 other shifts. This committee is operational Wednesday through Sunday.
