Three Players Represent 65 Combined Wins on PGA TOUR and Champions Tour AUGUST 26, 2008, Baltimore, MD - The Constellation Energy Senior Players Championship today announced that Tom Kite, Bernhard Langer and Mark O'Meara have all committed to play in the final major championship of the 2008 Champions Tour season this October 6 - 12, at Baltimore Country Club at Five Farms in Timonium, MD. "We are thrilled to have these three legendary players compete in the Constellation Energy Senior Players Championship," said Tournament Executive Director Steve Schoenfeld. "Tom Kite, Bernhard Langer and Mark O'Meara have 65 combined wins in their storied careers on the PGA TOUR and Champions Tour and will provide some exciting golf for our area fans to enjoy." Tom Kite has claimed 19 championships on the PGA TOUR during his legendary career including THE PLAYERS Championship in 1989 and U.S. Open Championship in 1992. Kite has ten victories on the Champions Tour including the 2008 Boeing Classic this past weekend, the 2007 AT&T Classic, and 2002 MasterCard Championship. Kite was inducted into the World Golf Hall of Fame in 2002 and served as captain of the U.S. Rider Cup team in 1997. Kite is a native of Texas and joined the PGA TOUR in 1972. Bernhard Langer currently holds the top spot on the Champions Tour money list for 2008 and was named the Champions Tour player of the month in March 2008. Langer's Champions Tour victories include this year's Toshiba Classic and Ginn Championship Hammock Beach Resort, as well as the 2007 Administaff Small Business Classic. Langer holds three wins on the PGA TOUR including the 1985 and 1993 Masters Tournaments. Langer has also claimed numerous victories on the European Tour. Langer is a native of Germany and joined the PGA TOUR in 1984 after competing on the European Tour. Mark O'Meara has won 16 times on the PGA TOUR including the 1998 Masters Tournament and British Open Championship. He also holds numerous other international titles including the 1986 Australian Masters, 1992 Tokai Classic, 1998 Cisco World Match Play Championship, and the 2004 Dubai Desert Classic. During his 2007 rookie season on the Champions Tour, O'Meara was a runner-up four times and holds two top ten finishes on the this year's Champions Tour at the Liberty Mutual Legends of Golf and FedEx Kinko's Classic. O'Meara joined the PGA TOUR in 1980. He is a native of North Carolina and grew up in Southern California. Kite, Langer and O'Meara join an impressive field that includes previously announced commitments from defending champion Loren Roberts, Jeff Sluman and Denis Watson. Players in the Constellation Energy Senior Players Championship will be competing for their share of the $2.6 million purse, which equals the largest purse on the Champions Tour this season. As the last of the Champions Tour majors, with $390,000 going to the winner, the double Charles Schwab Cup points awarded to the top-10 finishers will be a critical factor in deciding the Charles Schwab Cup points race.
