New program helps local charities raise funds through tournament ticket sales
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE - Potomac, MD - August 3, 2010 - Tournament officials at the Constellation Energy Senior Players Championship have extended local charitable organizations the opportunity to participate in TICKETS Fore CHARITY, an innovative fundraising platform designed to improve the quality of life in communities where the PGA TOUR & Champions Tour events are held. The program offers registered 501(c)(3) organizations a chance to raise funds by promoting ticket sales to the Champions Tour's final major championship of the year, the Constellation Energy Senior Players Championship to be held October 7-10 at TPC Potomac at Avenel Farm in Potomac, MD.
TICKETS Fore CHARITY enables participating charities to receive contributions based on the number of tickets sold in their name. 100 percent of the net proceeds from AREVA Championship Club tickets purchased through the program will go to the charity promoting the sale. Net proceeds excludes taxes and handling charges.

To date, Defending Champion Jay Haas, World Golf Hall of Fame members Tom Watson, Nick Price and Hale Irwin, as well as Jeff Sluman and Craig Stadler have committed to play in the Championship. This year's site, TPC Potomac at Avenel Farm, which hosted a PGA TOUR event from 1987-2004 and 2006, was recently named No. 12 on Golfweek's list of the "Best New Courses for 2009."

The Constellation Energy Senior Players Championship is one of five major championships on the PGA TOUR's Champions Tour for eligible professionals age 50 and over. Jay Haas won the 2009 event on the East Course at Baltimore Country Club in Timonium, MD, against a field of 78 Champions Tour players, one of the strongest of the year. The Constellation Energy Senior Players Championship has generated more than $7.5 million for charity since 1992. About the Champions Tour
The Champions Tour collectively, has the most recognizable and accomplished players in the game with 15 World Golf Hall of Fame Members actively competing in its events and numerous other major championship winners among its members. Conceived in 1980 as the Senior PGA Tour, it started with just four events and purses totaling $475,000.
