    • Constellation Energy Senior Players Championship Trophy to Tour Baltimore Area; Championship Tickets Now On Sale

    FOR RELEASE:  Monday, July 30, 2007

    Baltimore, MD - Beginning Monday, July 30, the Sam Snead Trophy, awarded annually to the winner of the Constellation Energy Senior Players Championship, will begin a two-month tour to Baltimore-area restaurants, providing golf fans the opportunity to see the trophy up-close.  Named in honor of the player with the most wins in PGA TOUR history, the trophy is comprised of two hand-carved pieces of Waterford Crystal, and the bowl is etched with 18 greens and appropriately numbered flags.

    Patrons dining at each restaurant while the trophy is displayed will receive a special coupon offering a 10-percent discount off their on-line ticket order to the 2007 Championship.  The Trophy Tour begins at The Capital Grille in downtown Baltimore and will make a different stop each week leading up to the Championship, Oct. 1-7 at Baltimore Country Club in Timonium.  The Trophy Tour schedule is as follows:

    Individual daily and weekly tickets to the Constellation Energy Senior Players Championship are now on sale.  Those wishing to purchase tickets to the Championship may do so by:

    Tickets available are listed below.  Advance prices are valid through Friday, September 28.  Consumers can save 33 percent off a Practice/Pro-Am Round grounds ticket and 20 percent off a Competition Round grounds ticket by ordering in advance of the tournament.  Additionally, weekly discounted tickets will only be sold in advance and will not be available at the gate.

    Children age 17 and under are admitted to the Grounds for free when accompanied by a paying adult.  Admission to Championship Club and Clubhouse is regular price.  Children age 5 and under admitted to Championship Club and Clubhouse for free when accompanied by a paying adult.  All prices are inclusive of taxes.

    Professionals that have committed to compete in the tournament to date include Defending Champion Bobby Wadkins, World Golf Hall of Fame members Bernhard Langer and Tom Watson, as well as Fred Funk, Jim Thorpe, Craig Stadler, Jeff Sluman, Jay Haas, Scott Hoch and Denis Watson.

    About the Constellation Energy Senior Players Championship
    The Constellation Energy Senior Players Championship is one of five major championships on the PGA TOUR's Champions Tour for eligible professionals age 50 and over.  Dates for the 2007 event are October 1-7.  Beginning this year, the event will be played on the East Course at Baltimore Country Club in Timonium, MD, with a field of 78 Champions Tour players competing for a share of the $2.6 million purse, the largest of the season.  The final two rounds of the event will be broadcast on NBC - in high definition for the first time - and aired in more than 140 countries around the world (2-4 p.m. Saturday and Sunday).  For the first time, all five of the Champions Tour's majors will have network weekend coverage.
