The Charles Schwab Cup Championship returns to the Sonoma Golf Club for the fourth consecutive year, this October 24-29. The 30 players will compete for $2.5 million, the second largest purse of the 2006 season.
The Championship will again determine the Champions Tour official money winner, as well as the Charles Schwab Cup points champion. Double Charles Schwab Cup points will be awarded at this year's Championship. Through the 3M Championship, Loren Roberts leads Jay Haas by 282 points. With double points also awarded in two weeks at the season's final major championship, the JELD-WEN Tradition, as well as at the Charles Schwab Cup Championship, a lot can change between now and the end of October.
