March 28, 2006

(Sonoma, CA)  --  Jackie Allison has been promoted to Tournament Manager for the Charles Schwab Cup Championship and will assume day-to-day management of the Champions Tour's season-ending event, effective immediately, it was announced today by the PGA TOUR's Championship Management division which runs the event.

Allison has been Client Services Manager for the Charles Schwab Cup Championship since it moved to Sonoma Golf Club in 2003.  She will be responsible for sales, community and club relations, promotion and championship office management.  Previously, Allison worked for the PGA TOUR in Philadelphia on the Pennsylvania Classic (now 84 LUMBER Classic in western PA).  A native of Ocean City, NJ, Allison spent 10 years with ABC Television in sales and marketing for affiliates in Philadelphia, New York and San Francisco.

Former World Golf Championships - American Express Championship Executive Director Ron Cross will serve in the role of Executive Director, providing oversight for the Charles Schwab Cup Championship.

Cross, a Vice President of Championship Management, was responsible for all aspects of last fall's American Express Championship played at Harding Park Golf Course in San Francisco.  He will work out of offices in both Sonoma and Ponte Vedra Beach, FL where the PGA TOUR is headquartered.

"Jackie has become a valuable member of the Championship Management team," said Cross.  "She has grown tremendously in the three years she has been involved in the Charles Schwab Cup Championship and we have no doubt she will excel in her new position.  We're confident Charles Schwab & Co., Sonoma Golf Club members, tournament sponsors, volunteers, the media and the community will respect and enjoy working with her as we collectively work to build the Championship."

Michael Garten was interim executive director for the Charles Schwab Cup Championship while running this year's World Golf Championships - Accenture Match Play Championship at La Costa Resort and Spa in southern California.  He will relocate to Tucson, AZ to run the Accenture Match Play Championship from its new home at the Gallery Golf Club.

The 2006 Charles Schwab Cup Championship will be played Oct. 24-29.  Tom Watson is the defending champion.
