The Constellation SENIOR PLAYERS Championship returns this week to Fox Chapel Golf Club in Pittsburgh where Joe Daley will defend his title.
The field includes two golfers inducted into the World Golf Hall of Fame earlier this year – Fred Couples and Colin Montgomerie, who celebrated his 50th birthday Sunday and will make his Champions Tour debut.
Other World Golf Hall of Fame members who will tee it up at Fox Chapel are Tom Watson, Hale Irwin, Larry Nelson, Tom Kite, Sandy Lyle, Nick Price and Bernhard Langer.
Pennsylvania native Rocco Mediate won his debut on the Champions Tour in February at the Allianz Championship and is among the nine winners this season in the field.
Last year’s victory for Daley was his first on the Champions Tour. Daley shot 68-64-68-68—266 to defeat Tom Lehman by 2 shots.
The SENIOR PLAYERS is the third of five major championships on the Champions Tour and double points in the Charles Schwab Cup points list will be awarded.
