SAN FRANCISCO -- The Charles Schwab Cup Championship, the Champions Tour’s season-ending event, has announced that its TICKETS Fore CHARITY program will run from July 11 through the end of the tournament, which is scheduled for Thursday, Oct. 31-Sunday, Nov. 3, 2013, at San Francisco’s TPC Harding Park.
TICKETS Fore CHARITY (TFC) is a unique program that offers 501(c)(3) non-profits an opportunity to raise funds for their organization by promoting the sale of tournament tickets to Champions Tour and PGA TOUR events in their communities. There are no sign-up fees or costs for charities to participate in the program, and 100% of the net proceeds from the sale of every ticket promoted through TICKETS Fore CHARITY will be donated to Bay Area charities. Seventy-five percent of the net proceeds from each ticket will benefit the selling organization, and 25% of the net proceeds will benefit The First Tee of San Francisco.
“Charity is a major part of the San Francisco community and the tournament,” said Ian Knight, Executive Director of the Charles Schwab Cup Championship. “The Charles Schwab Cup Championship is proud to give local charities the opportunity to raise funds for their organizations without any financial commitment.”
Non-profit organizations can choose between two ticket options and price points. Organizations can sell Any Day Grounds tickets for $20, or Weekly Grounds tickets for $50. To promote the program, each registered organization will receive flyers, posters and other marketing materials to use, all at no cost. Last year’s TICKETS Fore CHARITY program during the Charles Schwab Cup Championship raised $166,000 for various local Bay Area non-profit organizations.
The TICKETS Fore CHARITY kick-off event will take place on Thursday, July 11, at TPC Harding Park, located at 99 Harding Road in San Francisco. Check-in begins at 3 p.m., followed by a 3:30 p.m. presentation. For more information or to RSVP for the event, please contact Kristi Lee Fowlks at Kristifowlks@pgatourhq.com .
