HARRISON, N.Y. -- Fred Couples has joined the field at the Champions Tour's final major of the season, the Constellation Energy Senior Players Championship, to be held Aug. 17-21 at Westchester Country Club.
Couples has won 15 PGA TOUR titles in his career, including the 1992 Masters, and was the TOUR's Player of the Year in 1991 and 1992. Nicknamed "Boom Boom" because of his long drives, his personality and dynamic play have made him a perennial fan favorite on TOUR. Couples joined the Champions Tour last year, winning four times in his debut season en route to being named 2010 Rookie of the Year. In November, Couples will head to Royal Melbourne Golf Club in Australia to once again serve as captain of the U.S. Presidents Cup team.
