Darron Stiles enters his 10th season on the Nationwide Tour with momentum from a solid showing last season.
Stiles, 38, flirted with the inside of the top 25 on the money list in 2011, but wound up 33rd. If not for two missed cuts in his last four tournaments of the season it could have been a different story.
Stiles, the all-time leading money winner in Nationwide Tour history with just over $1.6 million, has four Tour victories. His most recent win was in 2006. He has also played four seasons on the PGA TOUR, where he played in 116 events with 52 made cuts.
Stiles has no problem navigating the Nationwide Tour season. He's finished inside the top 25 on the money list three different times. He also has made it to the PGA TOUR through q-school.
Last season Stiles ranked 33rd in driving accuracy but was just 116th in distance. His was ranked 43rd in putting average. To get inside the top 25 on the money list in 2012 he will have to improve on his greens in regulation, where he was a distant 92nd last season.
Earlier in his career Stiles said he would make a list of goals to accomplish for the coming season but doesn't do that anymore.
"It's funny, but I would set these goals and be so focused on them that I would kind of lose sight of what I was trying to do, and that's get the ball into the hole," Stiles said last summer. "So really I fall somewhere in between of setting goals."
Take a closer look at Stiles' stats from the 2011 Nationwide Tour season.
