Brice Garnett had a breakthrough season in 2011 and despite playing in a limited amount of events, was 70th on the Nationwide Tour money list.
Garnett, who has played mostly on the minitours since turning pro after graduating from Missouri Western State University in 2006, made a big splash at the Children's Hospital Classic in Chattanooga where he Monday-qualified and almost won.
Garnett finished second after shooting rounds of 65-68-66-67 for 22-under par and a check worth $54,000. That helped him jump up the money list and set him up for this season where he hopes to continue where he left off.
He wound up playing in just nine events in 2011 but made six cuts and had four top-25 showings.
In 2010 he also played on the Nationwide Tour and played in 14 tournaments but made just four cuts and just over $12,000. If he can figure out how to be consistent while playing over a full season on the Nationwide Tour he just might get close to the top 25 on the money list by the end of the season.
Garrett is plenty long off the tee averaging right at 295 yards and his scoring average was at 69.40 in the nine tournaments in 2011. With the experience he has over the last two seasons on the Nationwide Tour he should be more comfortable in 2012.
Take a closer look at Garnett's stats from the 2011 Nationwide Tour season. In 2011, he did not meet the minimum number of rounds required to be officially ranked.
