There's been a steady trend upward for Camilo Benedetti, a 2002 Florida graduate who is from Colombia.
In 2008 he was way back on the Nationwide Tour money list at 146 but has improved to 84th in 2009 to 63rd in 2010 to his best season in 2011 when he was 35th on the money list.
Benedetti, 32, has played in 107 career Nationwide Tournaments with just seven top-10 finishes but two of them came last season.
In 2011 he had eight top-25 finishes in 23 tournaments and was very consistent in making 18 cuts.
He was especially hot near the end of last season when he had both of his top-10s in his final six tournaments. He tied for third at the Albertsons Boise Open then tied for fifth in the Nationwide Tour Championship.
His tie for fifth gave him a nice momentum boost for this season. Benedetti's scoring average for the season was 69.74, which gave him a ranking of 15th on the Tour.
Benedetti hasn't won on the Nationwide Tour but is one of those players who has all the tools to get it done. He ranked 17th in the all-around ranking and 17th in total driving. If he could improve his putting just a little bit this could be his breakout season.
One reason he has a good upside is he doesn't seem to get into any bad stretches. The most cuts he missed was two in a row and that was in early May last season. In his final three tournaments of the season he tied for 32nd, tied for 11th and tied for fifth..
Take a closer look at Benedetti's stats from the 2011 Nationwide Tour season.
