It appeared that after James Hahn's 2010 season he had it all figured out after finishing 29th on the money list, but Hahn struggled in 2011 and slid to 67th on the money list.
Hahn has two full seasons on the Nationwide Tour and if he can put behind some nagging injuries this could be his breakout season. He suffered wrist and shoulder injuries most of last season, with his best finish at tie for fourth at the Utah Championship.
"I wouldn't consider it a sophomore slump," Hahn said about his second season on the Nationwide Tour. "It's the same process that it was in 2010 and it will be the same process for this coming year."
Despite not being in contention much last season there were plenty of lessons learned.
"I have to do some of the ordinary things well," Hahn said. "If I can put it in the fairway a little more consistently and putt better that will help."
Hahn was born in Seoul, South Korea, and is a former player at Cal-Berkeley. After catching fire on the Canadian Tour and winning twice, he made it to the Nationwide Tour.
Last season he played in 25 tournaments with eight top 25s and did make 16 cuts, but wasn't in contention very often. He missed the last three cuts at the Children's Hospital Classic, Miccosukee Championship and Winn-Dixie Jacksonville Open -- and because of that missed out on playing in the season-ending Tour Championship.
He ranked just 76th in driving accuracy last season and his putting average ranked 56th, but he slipped to 62nd in greens in regulation. In 2010 he was 20th best on tour in greens in regulation.
Hahn joked that because he's 30 now, and he's getting married in February, he would love to make an impact in 2012.
"You really learn from your failures more than your successes," Hahn said. "I not only want to play with that hunger I'm going to play with a chip on my shoulder."
Take a closer look at Hahn's stats from the 2011 Nationwide Tour season.
