Weather: Mostly cloudy, warm and humid with highs in the low-80s and winds from the NNW at 5-10 mph.

Current Leaderboard: 1 -- Michael Allen/134/-10; T2 -- John Cook & Jay Don Blake/135/-9); T4 -- Mark O'Meara & David Peoples/136/-8); T6 -- Bernhard Langer, Rod Spittle & Tom Lehman/137/-7).

• Allen followed his strong play on Friday with another solid round and heads into Sunday's final round with a one-stroke lead over John Cook and Jay Don Blake. Allen posted a 4-under-par 68 on Saturday and his round featured just one bogey. He'll be seeking his second career win on the Champions Tour and the first since his victory at the 2009 Senior PGA Championship.

• Allen has twice held sole possession of the lead heading into the final round of a Champions Tour event. He was the 54-hole leader at the 2009 Senior PGA Championship where he went on to win in his Champions Tour debut and he also led after three rounds at the 2010 Charles Schwab Cup Championship where he eventually finished second behind John Cook.

• Chien Soon Lu aced No. 17 on Saturday with an 8-iron from 156 yards. It was his first on the Champions Tour and the fifth of his career.

• Canadian Rod Spittle had the day's best round, a 6-under-par 66 and it helped him move from a T23 to a T6 going into Sunday's final round.

• The winner of this tournament which has the richest purse on Tour ($3 million) will receive 456 points in the season-long Charles Schwab Cup race. Tom Lehman, who is currently T6 (three strokes behind) leads the race with 1,985 points, 407 better than Mark Calcavecchia (1,578). Peter Senior is third with 1,419 points.

• One of the featured threesomes on Saturday included three former Ryder Cup captains, Americans Tom Watson and Tom Lehman and European Bernhard Langer.

• Saturday's second-round scoring average (71.850) was just slightly higher than Friday's average of 71.633. The field averaged 71.850 in the second round.

• The most difficult hole in second round was again No. 10 with an average score of 4.333, while No. 18 was the easiest at 4.633 (-.367). There were three eagles and 29 birdies.

• Second-round leaders have won seven of 19 54-hole events in 2011.

• Cook could become the Champions Tour's first four-time winner on Sunday should he prevail. Cook and Tom Lehman each own three wins in 2011 and both are within striking distance. Cook is currently T2 and trails Allen by one shot, while Lehman is T6, three strokes back.
