CordeValle Golf Club is 30 minutes south of San Jose, Calif. Featuring a 260-acre, 18-hole championship golf course designed by Robert Trent Jones Jr., CordeValle was named No. 7 on the list of best courses you can play in California for 2010 in Golfweek. Golf.com named CordeValle No. 4 on the list of California's Best Golf. In 2009, Golf Digest named the club No. 28 of the Best State Golf Course, No. 60 on the list of America's 100 Greatest Public Golf Courses, No. 21 on the list of The 75 Best Golf Resorts in North America, and No. 14 of the World's Best Golf Hotels. San Francisco Business Times name CordeValle No. 5 of the Most Difficult Courses in the Greater Bay Area in 2009 (ranked by NCGA course rating).
Situated on 270 acres of gently rolling terrain in a pastoral California valley, the course utilizes the natural elevation changes of its peaks and canyons, enhanced by broad meadows, streams, striking sycamore and mature California oak trees. The course features multiple tees and approach angles for varying degrees of difficulty. Strategically placed bunkers with challenging bays, fingers and folds establish the character of the course. An elevation change of approximately 150 feet over the entire 18 holes makes it walkable for the golf purist and demands different strategies and club selections throughout. -- Source: Golf Course Superintendents Association of America |
