BRIAN GAY: Yes, it was a nice way to start the week.

Q: Take us through the day.

BRIAN GAY: I got off to a nice birdie on one, then I was fortunate enough to chip in on three and five. They were easy chips, but I was lucky enough to get both of them in. Then I birdied seven. Hit it close on eight and nine, but missed them both. Kind of stumbled a little bit on 10, then played good coming in.

Q: This could seem to be a good course for you. Is this a tournament you enjoy playing?

BRIAN GAY: Yes, definitely. Here and Harbour Town are my two favorite courses. I've had some good tournaments here and always enjoy coming back.

Q: You're a Texas guy. Does this tournament mean a lot to you?

BRIAN GAY: Yes, I love coming to Texas. I love playing in Florida where I live. I was born in Fort Worth but didn't live here but a few months, but I always enjoy coming here.

Q: You enjoy looking at Cowboy Stadium if they're not playing, right?

BRIAN GAY: Yeah, I'm a big Cowboy fan, so it's good to be around these parts.
