LAURY LIVSEY: We would like to welcome Brendon de Jonge into the interview room. You are coming off 6 under 64 today. Good playing. Can you talk about your round a little?
BRENDON de JONGE: Yes, it was obviously nice to get out there first off this morning. We kind of played at our own pace and not wait on anyone which is great. It was nice to get a couple under early and hang on.
LAURY LIVSEY: We'll take some questions.
Q. Brendon, did you see this coming? Obviously you have been playing pretty well this year seven Top 25's?
BRENDON de JONGE: No, not really. I struggled last week mightily. But I feel a lot more comfortable on this golf course than I did last week. So I had that going for me. But, no, I would be lying if I said I saw it coming.
Q. Brendon, are you a fast player? Do you like being able to be the first rattle out of the box, be quick out there? And what were conditions like that early?
BRENDON de JONGE: Yes, I do like to play quickly, and we had a quick group, all three of us enjoyed playing quickly. It was nice for us. Obviously we caught the back of the field at the turn. I think it was probably more windy when we teed off. It felt like it died a little bit, sort of gusting laying down every now and then. It was tough to pick a club.
Q. How did 5 play? You had a good save there, didn't you, weren't you left in the woods there?
BRENDON de JONGE: Yes, 5 we had a little bit of wind helping with the hole there. It was down off the left, so it was helping you go with the fairway. I hit a nice recovery shot just into the right fringe and was able to make a four from there.
Q. You said you feel comfortable on this course, anything in particular about this course that suits your game?
BRENDON de JONGE: I feel comfortable picking a line off the tee here. Obviously you need to drive it in these fairways. Especially, you know, you can get a lot of flies out of this rough. That's the main thing, just getting comfortable picking lines off the tee.
Q. Speaking of last week, was it pretty frustrating, or that course doesn't suit your game?
BRENDON de JONGE: It really doesn't. I never felt comfortable out there. I better figure that out because it is a $9 and a half million purse. I've never felt comfortable out there. To be honest I wasn't that surprised that I struggled last week unfortunately. But it also game me a chance to go home and take a couple of days off. I've played a lot.
Q. Did the wind come into play on No. 8?
BRENDON de JONGE: Yes, the wind was blowing pretty hard off the left on No. 8. It did a little bit. I didn't hit it where I was looking.
LAURY LIVSEY: Anything else? Brendon, thank you for your time, good playing.
BRENDON de JONGE: Thank you, sir. I appreciate it.
