Sunday player notes
Here are some of the players you'll see on the Golf Channel's coverage of the final two rounds:
SHIGEKI MARUYAMA
Maruyama is making his 13th start at the Sony Open in Hawaii. Of the previous 12, he has missed just three cuts at Waialae Country Club, one of which came last year. In 44 competitive rounds at Waialae, Maruyama has posted 26 in the 60s.
STUART APPLEBY
Appleby has previously held at least a share of the 36-hole lead eight times, two of which resulted in victory -- the 2006 Hyundai Tournament of Champions and Shell Houston Open. Appleby is making his 12th start at Waialae this week. Of his previous 11 starts, he has amassed four top-10s, highlighted by a runner-up finish in 2000.
ROLAND THATCHER
In Thatcher's last PGA TOUR start prior to this week, he finished second at the 2010 Children's Miracle Network Classic. By claiming the necessary solo second finish at Lake Buena Vista, he managed to finish inside the top 125 (122nd) and retain his PGA TOUR card for the 2011 season.
