The Starter: Round 2, Sony Open in Hawaii

The second round of the Sony Open in Hawaii takes place Saturday at Waialae Country Club. The Golf Channel will televise live action beginning at 7 p.m. ET (2 p.m. local time).

12:40 p.m. ET No. 10		Matt Kuchar, Steve Stricker, Ryan Palmer Matt Kuchar had the best opening round of this trio, this week's featured group.
5:20 p.m. ET No. 10		Stuart Appleby, Justin Rose, Justin Leonard Appleby and Rose were the two biggest stories of the Round 1 early wave and will be together in prime time Saturday.
5:10 p.m. ET No. 1		Jonathan Byrd, Jim Furyk, Ernie Els The "Kings of Hawaii" group, Els and Furyk each had four birdies (but also four bogeys) Friday.
12:50 p.m. ET No. 10		Jason Day, Anthony Kim, Vijay Singh Though none of them got much traction in Round 1, expect at least one player from this group to make a move Saturday.

Here are some of the players you'll see on the Golf Channel's coverage of the second round:

STUART APPLEBY

Though leading, Appleby didn't have a great day on the greens Friday. He will, however, be sticking with the new 2-ball putter that served as a sub when his regular putter went missing last week at Kapalua.

JOHN DALY

Always exciting, Daly averaged better than 307 yards off the tee in the opening round and racked up six birdies. He tees off at 5:50 ET today.

JAMIE LOVEMARK

Last year's Nationwide Tour Player of the Year, Lovemark is making his debut as a TOUR member this week. The former USC Trojan has made nine cuts in 17 starts in TOUR events including a runner-up finish at the 2009 Frys.com Open.
