Round 4 Player Notes
Here are some of the players you'll see on the Golf Channel's coverage of the fourth round:
Matt Kuchar
Don't forget about Kooch. Last year's co-runner-up finished insied the top 10 in boht TOUR events this year and is currently tied for 11th in La Quinta. Three of his four bogeys this week have come on par 3s, and if he avoids those numbers this weekend he should be in the mix with the leaders.
Chris Kirk
The TOUR rookie and No. 2 finisher on the 2010 Nationwide Tour money list, Kirk had nine birdies and six pars on his last 15 holes Friday as he moved up 25 spots on the leaderboard into a tie for fifth.
Chris Couch
The third round was his worst this week in the scoring column and on the greens, but Couch thinks he can get things straightned out and cut into his three-shot deficit. "I made a few mistakes, I had a few bogeys today, but I'm still a little rusty, so I'll take 69 today," he said after Friday's round. "I didn't feel great about my putting. I missed some putts I probably should have made. But hopefully we'll get that straightened out this afternoon and get them tomorrow."
