The third round of the Bob Hope Classic is set to begin Friday. The Golf Channel will televise live action beginning at 3 p.m. ET (12 p.m. local time).

He's currently tied for 69th. 12:15 p.m. ET, Hole No. 1 Silver Rock Boo Weekley Co-leading after the second round, Weekley is seeking his first win since 2008. 12:42 p.m. ET, Hole No. 10 La Quinta Jeff Overton He fired a 7-under 65 to move up 47 spots on the leaderboard in the second round. 1:45 p.m. ET, Hole No. 1, PGA West -- Nicklaus Daniel Summerhays Paired with Party of Five star Scott Wolf, Summerhays is hoping to add another low round to his scorecard after opening with a 69 and 66.

Round 3 Player Notes

Here are some of the players you'll see on the Golf Channel's coverage of the third round:

Charles Howell III Howell ran off four birdies in a row today at Palmer Private (Nos. 6-9) and then closed his day with three consecutive birdies. Howell is a two-time winner on the PGA TOUR and has also finished second 12 times. Matt Kuchar Last year's leading money winner has picked up in 2011 right where he left off in 2010. Kuchar has posted rounds of 66-70 and is at 8-under-par and tied for 17th place. Kuchar played his final five holes today in 1-over par. He finished T6 at the Hyundai Tournament of Champions two weeks ago and then added a T5 finish at last week's Sony Open in Hawaii. Kuchar and Steve Stricker are the only two players to register top-10 finishes the first two weeks of the 2011 season. David Duval The 1999 Bob Hope Classic champion fired a 5-under 67 at LaQuinta CC today and stands at 9-under 135 after two rounds. Duval has made the cut in 10 of 15 tries in this event and this is his best start since a 65-68 to open the 2001 tournament.
