Jake Owen concert headlines exciting week at Winn-Dixie

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - New this year, the Winn-Dixie Jacksonville Open presented by Planters at TPC Sawgrass will feature a variety of fan-friendly events, the highlight being a Friday-night concert featuring country music star Jake Owen. The Kraft Foods Concert for Feeding America will take place on the TPC Sawgrass lawn at 7 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 21st. All Friday and weekly tournament ticket holders get into the Jake Owen concert for free. Jake, once an aspiring PGA TOUR player himself, has recently climbed to #1 on the Billboard Country Music chart with his hit "Barefoot Blue Jean Night." Tickets are available here or at the gate.

Kicking off the tournament on Monday, Oct. 17th is The Florida Times-Union Junior Clinic, free for all kids. Two-Time RE/MAX World Long Drive Champion Jamie Sadlowski will host the Junior Clinic along with 20 Nationwide Tour professionals who will conduct an interactive clinic at 5 PM. Kids will receive free hats and prizes. Jaxson de Ville, Jacksonville Jaguars mascot, will also be present at the clinic.

Thursday, Oct. 20th fans will find discounted food, soft drinks and beer at the Winn-Dixie Pavilion, which is open to the public during "Thirsty Thursday" from 3:30 PM to 6:30 PM. Thursday also marks the start of the Nimnicht Family Auto Putt to "Winn"-A-Car Contest, near the 18th green. Between 12 and 6 p.m. on Thursday and Friday, and 11 a.m. and 4 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday, fans will have the opportunity to qualify for a Putt to "Winn" finale on Sunday afternoon -- in the event there is a winner, he or she will "Winn" a Car!

After the Friday-night concert, fans can look forward to a pancake "Breakfast at Sawgrass" inside the Winn-Dixie Pavilion on Saturday. The breakfast will be held from 9 to 11 a.m. and is FREE for all ticket-holders. Sunday, families are encouraged to bring out the kids for the Winn-Dixie Family Day between 11 a.m. and 3 p.m. Activities will include a face painter, character artist, games, mascots, and prizes. There will be free hot dogs, soft drinks and ice cream for the kids.

Finally, the Birdies for the Brave Patriots' Outpost will be open all day Thursday -- Sunday, to military personnel and their family members. The outpost will offer food and beverage to all active, retired and reserve military near the 9th green.
