Player Notes
Here are some of the players you'll see during Friday's coverage:
JONATHAN BYRD
In one of the most dramatic finishes in TOUR history, Byrd earned his fourth career victory in historic fashion by recording the first-ever playoff hole-in-one to win the 2010 Justin Timberlake Shriners Hospitals for Children Open. Using a 6-iron, Byrd aced the par-3, 204-yard 17th hole - the fourth extra hole - for the victory. He's looking to become only the second player in the history of the JTSHO to win in consecutive years. The last to do so was three-time champion Jim Furyk in 1998-1999.
NICK WATNEY
Las Vegas resident Watney is seeking his third victory of the season (WGC-Cadillac Championship, AT&T National). He has a career-high nine top-10 finishes this season. He'll be making his seventh start at the Justin Timberlake Shriners Hospitals for Children Open, with career-best, bookend T6 finishes in his inaugural start in 2005 and 2010. Last year, he recorded rounds of 66-66-67-66 to finish two strokes out of the Jonathan Byrd-Martin Laird-Cameron Percy playoff.
MARTIN LAIRD
Returns to TPC Summerlin seeking his second win and third top-two finish in three years at the Justin Timberlake Shriners Hospitals for Children Open. At the 2009 JTSHO, Laird defeated George McNeill on the third playoff hole (No. 18) with a birdie 3. Chad Campbell was eliminated on the second playoff hole (No. 17) with a bogey 4. Laird (and Cameron Percy) dropped a playoff in 2011 in dramatic fashion, with Jonathan Byrd acing the fourth playoff hole to win.
