Marco Dawson leads after 80 holes. He's just 18 away from medalist honors and his TOUR card.

LA QUINTA, Calif. -- Marco Dawson shot a 4-under 68 on Sunday on PGA West's TPC Stadium Course to take a three-stroke lead into the final round of the PGA TOUR Qualifying Tournament.

The 48-year-old Dawson had a 17-under 343 total. He made three PGA TOUR starts this year and also played in 21 Nationwide Tour events.

The top 25 and ties following Monday's finale of the six-round event will earn PGA TOUR cards.

Nationwide Tour player Stephen Gangluff was second after a 67 on the Stadium course.

Former Georgia star Harris English, a Nationwide Tour winner this year while still in school, was 13 under along with Brendon Todd. English shot a 70, and Todd had a 68. They played the Stadium course.

Reid Edstrom was Sunday's biggest mover. His 9-under 63 on the Nicklaus Tournament course got him into red numbers at 7 under. He moved from a tie for 89th into a tie for 24th, getting into position to secure his TOUR card on Monday.

Former "Big Break" champion Anthony Rodriguez and Matt Harmon each carded 8-under marks on the Nicklaus Tournament course but neither was able to reach red numbers for the week.

Also making a move was former U.S. Amateur champion and twot-time Nationwide Tour graduate Colt Knost, who is at 8 under after Sunday's 68 and tied for 19th. He's tied with Derek Fathauer (67), TOUR veteran Bob Estes, 2010 q-school graduate William McGirt and 2011 Nationwide Tour graduate Roberto Castro.

David Duval was tied for 63rd after a 68 on the Nicklaus Tournament Course.

Billy Horschel (76) and Sam Saunders (77) each slipped to 3-over totals on the TPC Stadium Course.
