MORE: Interactive Kodak Challenge Scorecards

The Kodak Challenge is a first-of-its-kind competition for PGA TOUR players, who must play at least 18 of the 30 Kodak Challenge holes to be eligible to win. A player's lowest score relative to par on his best 18 Kodak Challenge holes will be counted. The player with the lowest cumulative score relative to par wins $1 million and the Kodak Challenge trophy.

THIS WEEK: No. 18 at Redstone GC
A challenging and dramatic finishing hole with a lake bordering the entire left side of the hole, the tee shot challenges the golfer to carry as much water as possible, while also avoiding the large sculptured bunker along the left of the fairway landing area. The approach leaves little margin for error, with water on the left and a sand bunker on the right. With the tournament on the line, attacking the left-back hole location is a gutsy proposition.

Final round
Kodak Challenge hole No. 18 at Redstone Golf Club continued to stymie the PGA TOUR pros during the final round of the Shell Houston Open. Among the five players to master the 488-yard par-4 finishing hole was Charley Hoffman, who drained an 18-footer for birdie to move up the Kodak Challenge leaderboard at 6 under, one shot behind co-leaders Jarrod Lyle and Bill Lunde.

Hoffman leaves Texas in a tie for third place with Matt Kuchar and Shell Houston Open winner Phil Mickelson. Kodak frontrunners, Lyle and Lunde each carded first-round birdies to stay ahead of the field in the $1 million competition.

Louis Oosthuizen delivered the final rounds Kodak Challenge Shot of the Day when he sunk a 28-footer from just off the back side of the green. Cameron Beckman had the easiest Kodak Challenge birdie putt after landing his 174-yard approach to nine feet.

Kodak Challenge hole No. 18 was the second-hardest on the course in Sunday's final round at the Shell Houston Open, yielding five birdies, 48 pars, 18 bogeys and three doubles.
Third Round
Phil Mickelson played the Kodak Challenge hole perfectly Saturday, dropping a 183-yard approach to three feet to set up an easy birdie en route to a course-record-tying score of 63. Mickelson, who is tied for the lead of the Shell Houston Open, moved him within one stroke of the Kodak Challenge lead.

Scott Verplank and Blake Adams were two of the few competitors Saturday to match Mickelson's performance on the tough 488-yard par 4 No. 18. Verplank sank a 6-footer for birdie to tie Mickelson atop the Shell Houston Open leaderboard, while Adams dropped a 29-footer from just off the front edge of the green for the longest Kodak Challenge birdie of the third round. Kodak Challenge co-leaders Jarrod Lyle and Bill Lunde each played No. 18 at par.

For the third consecutive day, Kodak Challenge hole No. 18 at Redstone Golf Club was the most difficult hole on the course. There were 7 birdies, 51 pars, 18 bogeys and 2 double bogeys recorded on the Kodak Challenge hole Saturday. Seven of 79 shots hit the water on No. 18.
Second Round
Michael Thompson dropped 47-footer from just off the front side of the green on Kodak Challenge hole No. 18 at Redstone Golf Club, delivering the second round's Shot of the Day during the Shell Houston Open. Thompson was one of only 11 Kodak Challengers to birdie the 488-yard par-4 hole on Friday, while 40 pros played the feisty finishing hole over par.

Scoring the second round's easiest Kodak Challenge birdie putt was Greg Chalmers, whose 180-yard approach shot landed 20 inches from the cup for the easy tap-in. Anthony Kim holed out from 24 feet for birdie to move within three strokes of Kodak Challenge co-leaders, Bill Lunde and Jarrod Lyle at 4-under-par in the $1 million competition.

During the second round of the Shell Houston Open, Kodak Challenge hole No. 18 yielded 11 birdies, 89 pars, 30 bogeys and ten double bogeys, making it the second-hardest hole on the course.
First round
Jarrod Lyle and Bill Lunde each carded birdies on No. 18 during the opening round of the Shell Houston Open to stay atop the Kodak Challenge leaderboard at 7 under. On a day when few pros could master the 488-yard par 4 at Redstone Golf Club, Lyle delivered a Kodak Challenge moment on the troublesome finishing hole, sinking a 40-footer for birdie.

Double bogeys (12) outnumbered birdies (9), as hole No. 18 lived up to its billing as the hardest hole at Redstone Country Club and one of the top 50 most difficult holes on the PGA TOUR. A total of 20 balls found the water on No. 18, an astounding 14 percent of all shots on the Kodak Challenge hole.

Matt Kuchar moved into sole possession of third place in the Kodak Challenge after landing his 186-yard approach to three feet, while Robert Allenby tapped from 18 inches for the easiest Kodak Challenge birdie Thursday.

The infamous finishing hole at Redstone Country Club yielded a total of 9 birdies, 88 pars, 33 bogeys and 12 double bogeys during the opening round of the Shell Houston Open.

The Shell Houston Open is the 10th of 30 tournaments to participate in the $1 million Kodak Challenge competition.
