POTOMAC, Md. -- The Champions Tour made public today the full field of professionals who will compete for $2.7 million in prize money at the final major championship of the season, the Constellation Energy Senior Players Championship, to be held October 5-10 at TPC Potomac at Avenel Farm in Potomac, Md.
This year marks the 28th playing of the Senior Players Championship. The field will be comprised of 78 players and the format will be a 72-hole (four rounds) medal-play event. The course will play to a Par 70 at 7,136 yards for the Championship. As the last of the Champions Tour majors, the double Charles Schwab Cup points awarded to the top-10 finishers in the Constellation Energy Senior Players Championship will be a critical factor in deciding the Charles Schwab Cup points race.
As a reminder, grounds admission to the Constellation Energy Senior Players Championship will be complimentary for all spectators courtesy of Constellation Energy, Golf Galaxy, the Telos Corporation and OMNITEC Solutions, Inc., and includes admission to the Better Than Ezra Military Appreciation concert immediately following play on Saturday.
General parking is conveniently located off both I-270 and I-495 in Bethesda. Tuesday, October 5 through Friday, October 8 general parking will be at the Rockledge Drive Garage, which can be accessed via Rockledge Drive just north of the intersection at Fernwood Road. On Saturday, October 9 and Sunday, October 10 general parking will be at Marriott Corporate Headquarters, which can be accessed at the intersection of Rockledge Drive and Fernwood Road.
Shuttle buses will run continuously from the General Parking area to TPC Potomac. Note that in 2010, different than at events previously hosted at TPC Potomac, shuttle buses will drop spectators in the clubhouse parking lot, just steps from the first tee, providing an exceptional spectator experience.
