A lightning start to the final round by Mike Goodes at last year's Allianz Championship enabled him to walk off with the goods. It was his first victory in 32 Champions Tour starts.
Goodes birdied four of the first six holes on his way to a 66 and a 15-under-par 201 total. It was good for a 1-shot victory over Fulton Allem on the Old Course at Broken Sound in Boca Raton.
Goodes, from Greensboro, N.C., won with a birdie at the 18th hole.
Goode is off to a strong start in 2010. He is third in the Charles Schwab Cup race after two events behind Fred Couples and Tom Watson, winners of the first two events in 2010.

Tommy ARMOUR III |
Introduced himself to the Champions Tour with a scintillating debut. His runner-up finish at The ACE Group Classic featured a final-round 11-under-par 61. The two-time PGA TOUR winner eclipsed the tournament record of 62 by Gary Koch in 2004. |

Mike GOODES |
The defending champ warmed up for his return to Broken Sound with a T4 at The ACE Group Classic. It was his second consecutive top-10 finish following a T6 in the season opener. Top 10 in two categories -- scoring average (7th) and putts per round (9th). |

Bernhard LANGER |
Third last year at Broken Sound, 3 shots behind Goodes. Tied for 4th at The Quarry and now has seven straight top nine finishes since last August. Included in that stretch are 17 rounds in the 60s. He ranks in the top 10 in eight statistical categories. |

Dan FORSMAN |
He's driving the ball well (9th, Total Driving), is fourth in greens in regulation at nearly 80 percent and is coming off a T6 finish. Plus, he's returning to a course where he tied for seventh last year. It's a nice combination of facts, figures and performances. |
