Top-five watch
Here's how the top five in points going into the Deutsche Bank Championship fared on Saturday:
1. MATT KUCHAR Was tied for the lead early but ended up with a 72
2. STEVE STRICKER Defending champ has yet to make a bogey this week
3. MARTIN LAIRD Putter deserted last week's Playoffs playoff loser
4. JUSTIN ROSE After missed cut, all he can do is wait to see how it shakes down
5. ERNIE ELS He's broken par each day but hasn't gotten untracked
The top five in the FedExCup points standings is important, since the top five going into THE TOUR Championship presented by Coca-Cola control their own fate in regards to winning the FedExCup.
Bubble watch
Bubble Tournament Comment
70 BMW Championship Matt Jones still has some breathing room at No. 65 despite shooting 73 on Sunday. Greg Chalmers has replaced him on the bubble, falling nine spots now that he's tied for 54th.
30 THE TOUR Championship Carl Petterson remained 39th after that missed cut sent him tumbling nine spots. He's been replaced on the projected bubble by Bill Haas, who has moved up one spot.
