Top-five watch
Here's how the top five in points going into The Barclays fared on Saturday:
1. MATT KUCHAR No letdown for The Barclays champ as he opened with a 66
2. STEVE STRICKER Down two spots with a 65 but there's lots of golf left
3. MARTIN LAIRD Scotsman fell to sixth but opened with a solid 66
4. JUSTIN ROSE The 70 looks good on paper bt left him in danger of missing the cut
5. ERNIE ELS Finished strong with a birdie on 15 and eagle at 17 but still fell six spots
The top five in the FedExCup points standings is important, since the top five going into THE TOUR Championship presented by Coca-Cola control their own fate in regards to winning the FedExCup.
Bubble watch
Bubble Tournament Comment
70 BMW Championship Matt Jones fired a 65 and climbed 21 spots. Angel Cabrera shot 69 but still tumbled 15 and replaced the Aussie on the bubble.
30 THE TOUR Championship Carl Pettersson's 70 put him in danger of missing the cut and send him 11 spots down in the projecttions. Geoff Ogilvy rode a 64 in the afternpoon up 22 spots to replace the Swede.
