Players in the field who have yet to win a PGA TOUR event -- Kevin Na, Jeff Overton and Kevin Streelman. Each is hoping to match Chad Campbell, who in 2003 made THE TOUR Championship his first TOUR win. |
Career victories by Dustin Johnson, most of any active player in his 20s. The 26-year-old Johnson ranks second in FedExCup points after winning the BMW Championship. |
Players who have advanced to THE TOUR Championship in each of the first four years of the Playoffs. The players? Steve Stricker, Phil Mickelson, Ernie Els, Jim Furyk and Hunter Mahan. Stewart Cink would've been included in that group had he advanced to East Lake this year. |
Consecutive starts Martin Laird will make in PGA TOUR events when he tees off Thursday at East Lake. Laird has not missed a tournament since The Greenbrier Classic. Suffice to say, no player appreciated last week's off-week more than the Scotsman. |
Players in the field in their 20s -- Jason Day, Dustin Johnson, Martin Laird, Hunter Mahan, Ryan Moore, Kevin Na, Jeff Overton, Camilo Villegas and Nick Watney. |
Players competing in THE TOUR Championship for the first time in their careers -- Matt Kuchar, Charley Hoffman, Paul Casey, Jason Day, Martin Laird, Ryan Palmer, Jeff Overton, Ryan Moore, Kevin Streelman and Bo Van Pelt. In addition, Ben Crane is making his first appearance at THE TOUR Championship since the event became the Playoffs finale. Crane played in the event in 2005 and finished tied for seventh. |
Top-10 finishes this year by Matt Kuchar, most on TOUR this year. With his consistent high finishes and his win at The Barclays, it's no wonder he's leading in FedExCup points going into the Playoffs finale. |
International players in the 30-man field representing six countries outside the U.S. The countries and their players: Australia (Robert Allenby, Jason Day, Geoff Ogilvy, Adam Scott), England (Paul Casey, Luke Donald, Justin Rose), South Africa (Tim Clark, Ernie Els, Retief Goosen), Colombia (Camilo Villegas), Scotland (Martin Laird), South Korea (K.J. Choi). |
Sub-70 opening rounds in Matt Kuchar's 21 starts this season. He goes into THE TOUR Championship with six consecutive opening rounds in the 60s. So don't be surprised if you see his name at or near the top of the leaderboard on Thursday afternoon. |
TOUR Championship starts by Ernie Els (including this week's start). Only Davis Love III (16 starts) has made more appearances in this event. |
Score, under par, for Phil Mickelson and for Retief Goosen at East Lake since 2002. Each has played 360 holes at the course during that time. No players in the field have a better cumulative score, although Jim Furyk is close at 20 under (over 432 holes). |
Age of Jason Day, the youngest player in the field this week (he will be 22 years, 10 months and 14 days on Sunday). Day has a chance to become the youngest winner in the history of THE TOUR Championship. Tiger Woods currently holds that distinction; he was 24 years, 10 months and 1 day old when he won in 1999. |
Age of Steve Stricker, the oldest player in the field this week. On Sunday, he will be 43 years, 7 months and 3 days old, which would give him the chance to become the oldest winner in the history of THE TOUR Championship. Mark McCumber was 43 years, 1 month and 23 days old when he won in 1994. |

Percentage of drives by Dustin Johnson this year that were recorded at 300 yards or longer by ShotLink. No player on TOUR had a higher percentage of 300-yard drives than Johnson. The TOUR average, in fact, is 22 percent. Just as impressive, 25 percent of Johnson's drives average longer than 320 yards. |
