ATLANTA -- Tournament officials at THE TOUR Championship presented by Coca-Cola hosted a Kroger TICKETS Fore CHARITYTM Golf Outing at East Lake Golf Club on July 22. Kroger vendors competed in a friendly tournament to raise money for the Kroger TICKETS Fore CHARITY $50,000 Bonus Pool.
In May, Kroger announced the bonus program, which offers $50,000 to be divided by the 30-plus charities who are participating in THE TOUR Championship's TICKETS Fore CHARITY program. Kroger will present the $50,000 during the opening ceremony of THE TOUR Championship on Thurs., Sept. 23.
TICKETS Fore CHARITY is a unique program initiated on the PGA TOUR, Champions Tour and Nationwide Tour in which tournaments offer eligible charities the opportunity to promote the sale of tournament tickets, with 100 percent of the net proceeds donated to charity. At THE TOUR Championship, the charitable organization promoting the ticket sale retains 50 percent of the net proceeds of the applicable sale, with the remaining 50 percent donated to the East Lake Foundation.
In its second year, the TICKETS Fore CHARITY program has grown to include non-profits like Children's Healthcare of Atlanta, Special Olympics Georgia, TAG Education Collaborative and Camp Twin Lakes.
Tickets for THE TOUR Championship presented by Coca-Cola will go on sale in 131 metro Atlanta Kroger stores on Aug. 29.
"The need is than ever for many non-profit organizations, and we believe our customers can make a difference by supporting Tickets Fore Charity" said Glynn Jenkins, director of communications and public relations for Kroger's Atlanta Division.
"The TICKETS Fore CHARITY program has been a great way for us to grow the charitable outreach of THE TOUR Championship, making this a metro-Atlanta community event, not just an East Lake Event," said THE TOUR Championship Executive Director Todd Rhinehart. "This program is helping to raise much-needed, additional dollars for dozens of charities in our area, and we are thankful for our great partners at Kroger who are impacting the community even further through the Bonus Pool."
