EXPERT PREVIEW: PGA TOUR on-site correspondent John Maginnes previews Sunday's action:

Saturday's forecast

Sunny
Temp: 76 high/41 low
Chance of precipitation 0 percent. Winds from N around 15 mph.

Bill Haas looked comfortable when he took command with a barrage of birdies on the front nine Saturday at the Viking Classic. Then he looked perplexed when he made a double bogey on No. 12. He looked pensive when he made the two-putt par at 13. Then he looked determined when he birdied the next two holes. In all he made 8 birdies Saturday to take a four-shot lead into the final round. Amazingly it is the first time in his career that he has taken any lead into the final round on the PGA TOUR.

Sunday could be a lot of fun for Haas if the determined and comfortable 28-year-old plays all 18 holes. He can expect the same windy, difficult conditions that he has faced each of the last three days with one major difference. Autumn is arriving to Jackson on Saturday night with low temperatures in the high 40's. The mercury is expected to stay well shy of 80 degrees where it has been all week. With cool windy conditions the golf course could play just a bit longer than it has over the first three days.

Should the perplexed or pensive Haas play too many holes on Sunday there are plenty of chasers in his rear view mirror. Winning on the PGA TOUR is hard. Bill knows that. So does his fellow competitor in the final group Sunday, Michael Allen, who has been beating on the door since the 1980's. For Michael, a major champion on the Champions Tour, a win on the PGA TOUR after all these years would be nothing short of incredible.
