Q. 68 today. Six birdies, two bogeys. How did it feel?

DAVID DUVAL: I played well. I was happy. I hit the ball pretty solid. The wind came up the last six, seven, eight holes, but in general I'm pretty pleased.

Q. Game's been coming back the last few years. Feel like you're shooting the numbers to be able to stick in the tournament or to win again.

DAVID DUVAL: I feel like I'm playing well enough to win again. Just a matter of putting all those little pieces together that I failed to do so far. Driving the ball pretty well, putting it decent, just doing all the little things. If I just get rid of a few mistakes here and there. All in all, I feel like I'm doing it, but I need to do it a little more consistently.

Q. Golf course is already hard and firm. If we don't get any rain and it keeps blowing, how do you think it's going to be over the weekend?

DAVID DUVAL: It's going to be fun. That's how it should be, hard and fast. That's what all the players want.

Q. You said it picked up the last seven or so?

DAVID DUVAL: Probably something like that.

Q. How did that impact your game?

DAVID DUVAL: It's not like it's blowing that hard, but it's enough to make you pay a little more attention to what you're doing.

Q. Did it impact that shot on 9, or was that just off?

DAVID DUVAL: It exaggerated the poorness of it, if you will. I just kind of hit a bad push to the right and up in the air, and it's blowing. So it just pushed it further right. That wasn't wind. That was me.

Q. David your two bogeys -- I followed the whole round, your two bogeys were pretty much all world.

DAVID DUVAL: That's all right then. I guess so. I got up and down and made some good putts. But those are the things you do when you have a decent day. It's -- you know, I did that a little bit better today as opposed to how I've done it for most of the year. It seems like most of this year, those bogeys would have been doubles, and I would have had an entirely different score, maybe a different mindset. But, you know, I was playing aggressively, trying to do what I wanted to do.

Hit a couple bad shots, one on 18, one on 9. So be it.

Q. Over the top on the tee shot on 18?

DAVID DUVAL: I just hit up a little. Came out of not a very good swing.

Q. And what happened on the second -- the third shot on 18?

What did you hit?

DAVID DUVAL: I hit like a driving iron type club, and I actually -- I actually told them to get down when I hit it. I thought it was too far. I guess it came up just short.

Q. At 7 when the wind was really blowing, did you notice it just quit when you hit your shot?

DAVID DUVAL: Did it really?

Q. Yeah, it just quit. Then when Daly hit --

DAVID DUVAL: It was just driven.

Q. Like crazy.

DAVID DUVAL: Those are the things that make it tough, up and down and kind of all over the place.

Q. How do you like this golf course?

DAVID DUVAL: I like it a lot. I want to keep coming back. I like the people here. I was asked yesterday by my partners about my favorite places of the year, and this is one of my favorites. I think I've been out long enough, I've played long enough, that it's as much about relationships as it is anything else. Come here, and I feel like I have a decent fan base. I have a fan in Randy Watkins, who runs the thing. Viking people are wonderful. It's just -- you know, I love being here. The community comes out. It's just pretty cool.
