| Bubble watch |
| 100 |
Deutsche Bank Championship |
Six players from outside the top 100 moved inside the bubble after The Barclays: Kevin Streelman, Ryuji Imada, J.P. Hayes, Tiger Woods, Troy Matteson and Andres Romero. Romero, incidentally, rallied from consecutive double bogeys at Nos. 12 and 13 with four birdies in his last five holes -- including a 40-footer at No. 18 to make the Deutsche Bank as the 100th and last player. The previous player at 100, Jeff Maggert, withdrew on Friday and was eliminated from the Playoffs. |
| 70 |
BMW Championship |
In addition to Woods, seven other players from outside the top 70 moved inside the bubble: Martin Laird, Stephen Ames, John Senden, Charley Hoffman, Chris Couch, Tim Petrovic and Angel Cabrera. The old bubble boy at 70, Justin Leonard, broke a string of three straight 71s with a 69 to move from 70th to 68. The new bubble boy is Matt Jones who fell 14 spots to No. 70 with his tie for 60th at Ridgewood. |
| 30 |
THE TOUR Championship |
In addition to Laird and Streelman, two other players from outside the top 30 moved inside the bubble: Adam Scott and Vaughn Taylor. The previous bubble boy at 30, Stuart Appleby, only broke par once at Ridgewood and fell six spots. The new bubble boy at 30 is Carl Pettersson, who dropped from 20th when he missed the cut. |
