RICKY BARNES. He tied for seventh at Colonial last week, giving him his fourth top-10 finish of the season. Watch out for Barnes, who nearly won the U.S. Open last season.

BRYCE MOLDER. Shot a 62 at Colonial, and it easily could have been lower. Coming into the Texas Swing he had missed three straight cuts, but after meeting with a sports psychologist his game seems to be back on track.

KRIS BLANKS. Blanks picked up his third top-25 finish of the season last week at Colonial. He ranks 33rd on TOUR in driving accuracy this season and is 30th in hitting the green in regulation, which should come in handy at Muirfield Village. |
John Swantek |

DAVID DUVAL. He's been pointing toward the U.S. Open all year, so will be looking to get his game peaking over the next two weeks. Admittedly, his focus is not consistently sharp, but a quality field on a tough course will provide the necessary challenge.

KEVIN SUTHERLAND. Has made the cut in seven of nine starts at Muirfield, with a T11 in 2001 as his best finish. Has just one top-10 this year, but does come off a nice weekend (68-66) at Colonial. |
Lauren Deason |
JOHN MERRICK. Just have a hunch about Merrick. His past history at Muirfield Village isn't great, but he's been quietly consistent in 2010 with just three missed cuts in 15 starts and three top-30 finishes.
Ryan Smithson |
BEN CURTIS. Has a horrible record in his hometown tournament. Well, he did tie for eighth in 2004, but that was a long time ago. I still think he's a top-50 player. His putting just needs to return to its former glory. Not too much to ask, is it?

Brian Wacker |
 | CHAD COLLINS. Hits it straight (13th on TOUR in total driving), good putter. That's a good formula for Muirfield Village. He's also played well at a couple of pretty tough tracks with top-10s at TPC san Antonio and Pebble Beach.
