Q. Phil, great start to the tournament, you birdied the first two holes? (Inaudible).
PHIL MICKELSON: Yes, Fred, I played well the first four holes and the last 14 I hit the ball terrible, so I will have some work to do. Already I was in there texting Butch so I've got some direction in the morning, I will probably get out here for an early session.
Q. It was so hot, was energy your problem?
PHIL MICKELSON: You know, I had a tough last couple of days because I've been doing a lot of outings and maybe energy was a factor, I'm not sure. There is no excuse. There is no wind. The golf course has been in perfect shape and there are a lot of scores out there. I just wasn't one of them.
Q. Early morning tee time on Friday, the course will be in optimal shape, are you going to get it?
PHIL MICKELSON: It should. The greens should be perfect and if I can get a few iron shots close to the hole I should be able to make a run.
Q. Could you feel the fans cheering you on, trying to egg you on out there?
PHIL MICKELSON: I don't know. There was a lot of birdies out there. I just didn't make many of them.
Q. (Inaudible)?
PHIL MICKELSON: No, I played the first four holes very well. I thought it was going to be a good day. There was no wind. I just started hitting the ball terrible. I hit it sideways off the tee. I hit terrible iron shots. Fortunately, I actually putted decent today or else it could have been a lot worse.
Q. Watching your start, yesterday you felt pretty good, you feel like you were sharp, what in the world happened?
PHIL MICKELSON: I'm not sure. I'm not sure. I was going along very well and I hit a lot of solid shots. I hit two holes off the tee, 6 and 7.
Q. (Inaudible)?
PHIL MICKELSON: Well, we will try to get a little direction. I have an idea of what I've been doing. I will try to get out here a little early and get a practice session if it's not too hot and see if I can get it turned around.
