GREENSBORO, N.C. -- Interestingly, no one has moved in or, just as importantly, out of the top 125 in the FedExCup standings through two rounds of the Wyndham Championship.
There have been a lot of position changes, though, and a new bubble boy, Chris Stroud, has emerged. The Texan shot 76 on Friday and missed the cut -- so he'll now be watching anxiously to see if he makes the PGA TOUR Playoffs for the FedExCup for the second time in his career.
PGATOUR.COM takes a look at some of the movers -- in both directions -- below.
| On the way up |
Scott Piercy: A second-consecutive 66 has put the Las Vegas native in position to play his way into the field at The Barclays. Piercy started the week at 140th but has moved 14 spots to No. 126. He'll need to play well on the weekend, but Piercy is 8 under for the tournament and tied for 10th at the midway point. He's seeking the first win of his career, too.

Andres Romero: A year ago the Argentine was 125th in the FedExCup standings but opted not to play in the Wyndham Championship so he could work on his game. This year Romero wanted to compete in the Playoffs but came to Greensboro in a precarious spot, ranked 123rd. He fired a 67 on Friday, though, to move to 7 under and tied for 20th. Equally important, he's gained some breathing room in the FedExCup standings -- moving up nine spots to No. 114 in the projections.

Michael Letzig: This week's first bubble boy has continued to climb in the projected rankings after a pair of rounds in the 60s at Sedgefield. He climbed four spots in the rankings after the first-round 66 and is 119th after his 68 on Friday. Letzig can't afford to back-pedal,though, if he wants to play in The Barclays for the third straight year. |

| Moving in the wrong direction |
Kevin Stadler: Stadler, who lost in a playoff at Sedgefield a year ago, had a horrendous opening nine holes Friday. He started on the back nine and made two bogeys, one double bogey and one triple bogey on the way to a 42 and a final 76. His missed cut has left him vulnerable -- he's dropped from 117th to 122nd in the projections. With five guys playing their way into the top 125 in the last two years, there will certainly be some anxious moments over the weekend.
Mike Weir: The good news is that the Canadian can finally do something about the tendinitis in his elbow. The bad news is that he's going to miss the Playoffs for the first time in his career after making the field for THE TOUR Championship presented by Coca-Cola each of the last two years. Weir started the week on the outside looking in at No. 126, shot 2 under to miss the cut and will now have a month off to heal.
Tiger Woods: He's not playing this week in Greensboro and he WILL begin his FedExCup title defense next week at The Barclays. But Woods has slipped five spots in the projected standings down to No. 113. Only the top 100 advance to the Deutsche Bank Championship, which is the second Playoffs event, so the world No. 1 will have even farther to climb in week one of the Playoffs. |
