PALM BEACH GARDENS, Fla. -- PGA National Resort & Spa -- home of the PGA TOUR's Honda Classic -- announced Wednesday that Maureen Bishop of Vail, Ariz., is the winner of the 2011 PGA National Honda Classic Pro-Am Sweepstakes for the tournament to be held Feb. 28-March 5, 2011.
Randomly selected from over 3,500 entries, Bishop will play on PGA National's famed Champion course in the 2011 Honda Classic Wednesday Pro Am and battle the infamous three hole "Bear Trap" just like the pros do.
"I can't believe I won," Bishop said. "I'm thrilled about the opportunity to play in the Honda Classic Pro-Am and stay at PGA National."
In addition, she will receive two tickets to the tournament with hospitality suite access, a set of clubs custom fitted at the PGA National Club Fitting Lab, four nights' accommodations at PGA National Resort & Spa, round trip airfare and one round of golf for two on the resort's Palmer course. Also included are spa treatments, dinner at the contemporary sophisticated Ironwood Grille and daily breakfast at The Citrus Tree Café.
"The PGA National Honda Classic Pro Am Sweepstakes is the perfect event to begin the excitement for next year's start of the 'Florida Swing,'" said Joel Paige, Vice President and Managing Director of PGA National. "We're delighted to again host the world's finest golfers and also to host Mrs. Bishop as she experiences the first-class amenities and services we offer."
