Q. Davis, pretty good sailing for you this year?
DAVIS LOVE, III: Well, yes, a good start. You get close to the lead though you want to win. I'm a little disappointed I didn't give it a better run. But all in all it was a good week. A lot of positive things so I got to take that. If I holed a few more putts, got a few more breaks, I would have be right in there.
Q. Well one of the good breaks that you caused was an eagle on 16 when you holed it out, tell us about that.
DAVIS LOVE, III: That was nice. Every time I missed the green I've been talking myself into trying to chip it in. I never got a chip in but I got a hole out in the fairway. I thought Matteson had a shot going in. It went up there real close, I backed away. So I said I better hit it passed the pin, so I snuck it back a little bit and just got lucky. That was exciting. It made up for a couple of the putts I missed and I was able to finish the round.
Q. I know you have given Corey Pavin something to think about.
DAVIS LOVE, III: (Inaudible). I'm going to give him a lot to think about, I would like to be in the Top 8. I got a long way to go to get there. I've been aiming for a lot of things this year. If I can just go out and play like this and not think about it, I will be in good shape in October.
Q. (Inaudible)?
DAVIS LOVE, III: It was a good week, I came over early to get ready. I did the things I normally do to try to get ready for a tournament. And I actually played pretty good. All in all, it was a good week. You get a taste of the leaderboard though, you want to win. So I'm going to be a little bit disappointed that I didn't give it a better shot. I didn't birdie either one of the par 5s today. So there is two shots closer I would have been. Other than the hole out, there wasn't really anything excited. It was boring golf the last few days. The first day 5 under looked pretty good and after that it was just steady eddy. Steady eddy out here, you got to play pretty good every day. But all in all I'm happy.
Q. (Inaudible)?
DAVIS LOVE, III: It gave me confidence when I work on the things I've been working on. All week I had a chance to win. That's where I want to be is have a chance and compete with the guys. If I keep doing this, I will be in good shape.
Q. Final thing, you are entering your mid 40's, you are revered on this TOUR, (Inaudible), do you sense a new roll as far you on the PGA?
DAVIS LOVE, III: Oh, I don't feel old, but there is a lot of young guys out here. You know, I'm honored a little bit of being on the board, being on the pack, and helping out in that regard, and being a guy that people look up to.
But that's just experience, you know. I've learned from guys like Crenshaw and Kite and Raymond Floyd and all of the greats, back to Palmer, how to act and what you are supposed to do and try to get back in the game. I'm just following in the footsteps and hopefully I can help out and maybe help some of these young guys out and beat a few of them.
