Q. How important was the birdie on 18?
STEVE STRICKER: Very important. I told my caddy Jimmy walking off the tee box, we need at least one, meaning at least a birdie. I was fortunate enough to get that up and down. I didn't leave my second shot in a very good spot. I walked away with a 4. It's a good start for tomorrow. I'll only be about three, or maybe four shots back. Not a lot of guys in between so I got a shot at it.
Q. It's hard going very low at Waialae, what do you think you need tomorrow?
STEVE STRICKER: Well, you just need to be consistent. You need to get it in the fairways, first of all, so you can kind of be aggressive at some pins otherwise (Inaudible) especially if you are in the rough, it's hard to control. You need to get the ball off the tee in the fairway.
Q. Do you have a number for tomorrow?
STEVE STRICKER: You know it all depends on what Robert does tomorrow. But it's going to have to be pretty low, probably my lowest round of the week. You know I got a chance. That's all you can ask for going into the last day. Like I said, there is not a ton of guys in between the leader and where I'm at.
Q. All is well that ends well?
STEVE STRICKER: Yes, I needed that at the last. I hit a good drive, but it's a tough fairway to hit, and when you get through that fairway, you know, you got to try to run something up in between those bunkers, and I didn't do it, barely got in one of the bunkers and not a very easy up and down but made a good putt at the end of the day.
Q. You had a very cool gallery out there on the back 9?
STEVE STRICKER: My wife and kids?
Q. Absolutely.
STEVE STRICKER: It's a lot of fun. We don't get the opportunity to go to many tournaments together, especially to come over to Hawaii; great weather, a great place to be, especially to start the year and have your family here is just icing on top of the cake.
Q. In all of your rounds, how often have they been there?
STEVE STRICKER: You know, a couple, but not too many. We started to call my daughter the lucky one because she has been to the last couple of wins. So it's always nice to have them around especially when you are playing well.
Q. And you did play very well today, obviously most of the day, a lot of really good shots, some putts just didn't go in. If they go in tomorrow, you never know.
STEVE STRICKER: Yes, you never know. I thought I hit the ball better today than I did the previous two days. At least it was more solid and I just need to make putts to go in, never had any momentum, but maybe that last one will provide a good boost of confidence for tomorrow.
