Q. Jeff, nice playing today, can we get some comments on the round.
JEFF QUINNEY: It was just blowing early. I knew it was going to play tough. Obviously the wind kind of switched from kind of the northwest to north, the course kind of changed on some of the holes and there was a lot of crosswinds. I made a couple of good putts early to kind of keep the round going. No bogeys today.
Any time first round out of gate you may be a little rusty and to get off to a good start always feels good.
Q. Tell us about that first tournament of the year to get the juices going, it went pretty good?
JEFF QUINNEY: Yes, I really took some good time off after last year, but at the same time I kind of buckled down over Christmas and over the holidays and tried to play a lot. There was some good weather in Scottsdale, and I was able to play a lot of tournaments with my friends back at golf clubs in Scottsdale and grind it out and just be ready to play.
Q. Anything stand out in particular today?
JEFF QUINNEY: The putting. I had some great putts. A couple of par putts, very slick with the wind, trying to get away from me and just made those come backers. It was tough to balance, the wind would blow you over, and I think putting was the key today.
Q. And any long birdies to speak of or any that really stand out?
JEFF QUINNEY: I made a par putt on 1 about a 15 footer, missed the fairway there and birdied 2. Two shots right out of the gate there. You know, just long putts, I made a par putt on 14, about a fifteen footer down grain.
Q. Jeff, bogey free what a nice way to start the 2010?
JEFF QUINNEY: It with a tough day out there. Obviously, it started from the get go. The morning round, you think you are going to have the calmness. I didn't think it was going to be there, but it was there from the range all through 18 holes, so 4 under is a great start for me. I would say bogey free is always key.
Q. You putted well, 26 putts?
JEFF QUINNEY: Yes I missed a couple of greens, you just saved the shots, scrambled out there. It's just the type of day you have to play in these conditions. You know, you're not going to play 15 greens, your normal type of round, you just have to scramble a lot.
