Like the PGA TOUR with Jordan Speith this week in Dallas, the Nationwide Tour also has a 16-year-old high school golfer who made the cut in The Rex Hospital Open in Raleigh, N.C. -- Grayson Murray.

Below are a few bullet points on Grayson and what he's done this week:

• He is a sophomore at Leesville Road High School in Raleigh. He shot rounds of 73-66--139 to make the 36-hole cut at TPC Wakefield Plantation on the number. He birdied five of his last seven holes on Friday to do so.

• He added a one-over-par 72 on Saturday and is tied for 55th through three rounds.

• At the age of 16 years, 7 months and 20 days, he is the second youngest to make a cut in Nationwide Tour history.

• The youngest was Gipper Finau, 16 years, 20 days, at the 2006 Utah EnergySolutions Championship.

• Murray is the fifth youngest to play in a Nationwide Tour event.

• He was given a sponsor's exemption after winning The Rex Hospital Junior Invitational last weekend. It was a 36-hole tournament. He beat a field of 88 high school boys and 12 girls from North Carolina.

• He is the top-rated high school player in the class of 2012 nationally and is bound for Wake Forest University on the Arnold Palmer Scholarship.

• He has the same coach, Ted Kiegiel, as PGA TOUR player and former Wake Forest star Webb Simpson.
