Whether you want to go on a golf trip, experience a romantic getaway or just sit on the beach, Maui offers plenty of ways to enjoy a Hawaiian paradise.
Where to Play
Kaanapali Golf Resort: Located just down the road from Kapalua on the northwest tip of Maui, the resort has two layouts. The site of the Wendy's Champions Skins Game, Royal Kaanapali was designed by Robert Trent Jones Sr. in 1962 and is one of the grand dames of Hawaii golf.

Kapalua Resort: The centerpiece is the Bill Coore/Ben Crenshaw-designed Plantation course, site of the PGA TOUR's season-opening SBS Championship, but the Bay course features the 205-yard 5th, which requires a carry over the Pacific Ocean.
Wailea Golf Club: Each of the three courses, Emerald, Gold and Blue, boasts views of two natural wonders: the Pacific Ocean and the 10,023-foot Mount Haleakala volcano. The Gold, a Robert Trent Jones Jr. design, was a longtime host of the Wendy's Champions Skins Game.
Where to Stay
Four Seasons Resort Maui: From December to April, this property on the island's southern coast is the perfect base from which to enjoy one of Hawaii's unique attractions -- watching humpback whales at play off the coast.
The Ritz-Carlton, Kapalua: One of the rewards for winning a PGA TOUR tournament is kicking off the following year with a week's stay at this luxury property, which recently underwent a $130 million renovation. After rounds, players can relax by the tri-level pool that has ocean views.
Westin Maui Resort & Spa: Located next to famed Kaanapali Beach and boasting an 87,000-square-foot aquatic center with five pools, two water slides and a grotto, the resort is perfect for guests who love the water.
Where to Eat
The Banyan Tree: The signature restaurant of the Ritz-Carlton is a seafood lover's delight, featuring local ingredients like kampachi and lobster from nearby Kona.
Lahaina Grill: One of the island's best restaurants is located in the town of Lahaina and features an international menu complemented by local ingredients. First-timers shouldn't miss the tequila shrimp and firecracker rice.
Old Lahaina Luau: Sure, it's touristy, but if you're looking to learn more about Hawaiian culture, you can't beat the food and entertainment value of a traditional luau.
