PONTE VEDRA BEACH, Fla.- The Champions Tour announced the inaugural Champions Tour Pick 'Em Challenge, part of the Summer of Fun campaign launched in June.

PICK 'EM CHALLENGE

This fantasy-style contest, which runs from August through October, will allow fans of the Champions Tour to compete for weekly prizes and the grand prize of an "Ultimate Fan Experience" for two at the 2010 Charles Schwab Cup Championship in San Francisco.

The Pick 'Em Challenge contest will kick-off for a six-tournament duration beginning at the Boeing Classic (Aug. 27-29) and concluding with final major championship of the season, the Constellation Energy Senior Players Championship (Oct. 4-10).

Fans can visit http://www.championstourchallenge.com/ to enter the contest.

"It's a great way for friends to compete against each other and it will be fun to see how the fans do compared to the Golf Channel announcers," said Tom Alter, Vice President of Tournament Business Affairs for the Champions Tour. "There's a fantastic grand prize and great weekly prizes, but I also think bragging rights are at stake."

Contest participants can pick a player at each Champions Tour event and be awarded points based on the chosen players finish. The points awarded to the participants of the Pick 'Em Challenge will mirror the Charles Schwab Cup points system where points are awarded for top-10 finishes and ties based on each week's money distribution, with $1,000 earned being the equivalent of one Charles Schwab Cup point. With the Constellation Energy Senior Players Championship being a major championship, double points will be available for the final event of the Challenge. A participant can pick a player just one time throughout the duration of the contest.

Each week, a winner will receive one dozen NIKE One Tour golf balls branded with the Champions Tour logo.

The 2010 Champions Tour Pick 'Em Challenge winner will be the person who has the most cumulative contest points at the conclusion of the Challenge. The "Ultimate Fan Experience" prize will include airfare and accommodation for two to San Francisco for the Charles Schwab Cup Championship at Harding Park GC (November 4-7). Invitations to the President's Dinner with the opportunity to meet the top 30 players on the Champions Tour, access to the Charles Schwab hospitality suite, along with clubhouse passes and car rental are also included.
