PGA TOUR announces winner of Ultimate Fan Contest

Theresa Hucke from Milwaukee, Wis. is a self-professed golf nut. Now she can add "Ultimate Fan" to her list of fan accomplishments which already includes securing autographs from Jack Nicklaus and Gary Player, learning Japanese to speak to PGA TOUR player Shegeki Maryuama and being noticed by Tiger Woods for her tiger-striped fingernails at a Ryder Cup.

Hucke was one of 50 PGA TOUR fans who entered the PGA TOUR's Ultimate Fan Contest on PGATOUR.COM during August to vie for the title of Ultimate PGA TOUR Fan. Hucke's video entry showed her love for golf and the PGA TOUR, but she never dreamed she'd win the whole thing. Votes from fellow fans boosted her into the top 10 entries, qualifying her as a finalist. A panel of judges from the PGA TOUR reviewed the 10 finalists and selected Hucke as the first official Ultimate PGA TOUR Fan.

"I really didn't think I was going to win," said Hucke, who was notified not long after she left the BMW Championship on Thursday. "That's why I woke up at 4:30 a.m. this morning to drive (here), so I could see one of the Playoffs events this year."

Hucke began playing golf at the age of three with her parents, but didn't attend her first PGA TOUR tournament until the 1999 PLAYERS Championship. If golf tournaments had passport stamps, Hauke would have numerous stamps from the U.S. Open, PGA Championship, Ryder Cup and Presidents Cup. She will be adding THE TOUR Championship presented by Coca-Cola to her schedule in two weeks, as part of the Ultimate Fan prize.

She will travel to Atlanta and have media access with PGATOUR.COM staff to cover the tournament on the PGA TOUR's official pages on Facebook, Twitter and YouTube, during Wednesday and Thursday of the tournament week. Hucke, who celebrates her 36th birthday the week after the event, will bring a new voice to PGATOUR.COM's coverage of the final event in the PGA TOUR Playoffs for the FedExCup.
