Jack William Nicklaus was born on Jan. 21, 1940 in Columbus, Ohio, to Charlie Nicklaus, a pharmacist, and Helen Nicklaus. He was raised in Upper Arlington, and attended Upper Arlington High School.

As the Golden Bear turns 70, we look back at his legendary golf career and study his impact on the game. In addition to his 18 majors, Nicklaus will forever be remembered as a family man and a true ambassador of golf.
