I know it has been too long since I've last had an update. I played seven straight weeks and it was hard to do much else other than concentrate on golf.

I'm off this week and I'm enjoying doing the little things that I miss when I'm gone ... like taking my kids to school and picking them up.

I was busy last weekend in Baton Rouge. We held the grand re-opening of the University Club in Baton Rouge. The course looks fantastic and I'm really pleased with the changes. We have made it very challenging from the back tees (for the LSU golfers) but I think the course is still fun and very playable for the average golfer.

LSU is off to a 3-0 start, which is great. We have three big games coming up against West Virginia, Tennessee and Florida. I'll be in Tiger Stadium this week for the game against the Mountaineers.

After this week, I will play the next two weeks on TOUR. The Viking Classic in Mississippi is next week followed by the McGladrey Classic in Sea Island, Ga. The entire Viking Classic was rained out last year so I am really hoping we get better weather this year. The McGladrey Classic is a new event and I've heard great things about. I'm looking forward to both events.

Hunting season is around the corner and this is the most excited I've been about duck hunting in while. I have all my gear from Drake Waterfowl and I can't wait to put it to use. We've done a lot of work to my property in Southern Arkansas and we are expecting a lot of ducks.

Thanks for your support.

I hope you had a great Christmas and New Year. I enjoyed the time with my family during the holidays. Most of the time was spent around the house, but we did go to Colorado for a ski trip and we had a blast.

I also spent a good bit of time in Arkansas with friends and family duck hunting. We had great days, good days and slow days, but every day was still enjoyable (except for the day I got freezing cold water in my waders).

Louisiana, like most of the country, is experiencing extremely cold weather so golf has not been much of an option. But I leave for Hawaii on Sunday and the forecast is sunny skies with temperatures in the low 80s, and that is something to be excited about. I've played very well in Honolulu in the past and I'm hoping to get the 2010 season off to a good start.

After the Sony Open in Hawaii I will play in the Bob Hope Classic before coming home for a week. During my off week I will jump over to Orlando to be with Cleveland Golf at the PGA Show for a day. I've been there a few times and it is always quite a spectacle.

I'm also excited about starting the year with a new partner ... CitationAir. I've been flying with CitationAir for the past four years and they are the best in the business. Click on www.citationair.com for more information on the company.

One other new project we have going on is a charter trip to Augusta for The Masters. Our Foundation will have a 737 leaving Shreveport on Wednesday, April 7th to make a day trip to Augusta. The package will include ground transportation and a pass to the practice round / Par 3 Tournament that takes place on Wednesday. The plane will come back the same evening. If you have never been to the Masters or you are looking for a simple way to go again, call our office at (318) 798-5437 or email adam@davidtoms.com

That's about it for now. School was cancelled for today because of the weather so I am going to get back to hanging out with the kids.

Stay warm and stay safe.
